Recreation place

 Lembah Harau

A Dutch heritage monument located at the foot of the Sarasah Bunta waterfall is proof that the Harau Valley has been frequently visited by people since 1926. Watching a beautiful stretch of rice fields is a common thing. However, if the expanse of rice fields is flanked by perpendicular cliffs towering about 150 meters to 200 meters high, people will surely be amazed. The scenery can be seen in the Harau Valley, the beauty is still scattered in the highlands. There are nature reserves and wildlife reserves. The Harau Valley covers an area of 270.5 hectares / 2,705 km². This place is designated as a nature reserve since January 10, 1993.

In the Harau Valley nature reserve and wildlife reserve there are various protected species of upland tropical rainforest plants, plus a number of rare animals native to Sumatra. The long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascirulatis) is an animal frequently seen in this area. This Harau Valley tourist area consists of 3 (three) areas: Aka Barayu Resort, Resort Sarasah Bunta, and Resort Rimbo Piobang. At the Aka Barayun resort which has a beautiful waterfall that has a swimming pool, which gives an authentic natural feel, also has the potential for the development of rock climbing sports because it has steep rocky hills and also has a location that can reflect sound (echo).
